In January 2022 the government removed the cap on working hours for student visa holders across all sectors, and lifted the six month single-employer limit for working holiday makers. A temporary, COVID-era measure — the dates below have passed.
NSW set out who would be invited to apply for the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) in the 2020-21 financial year: health, ICT and engineering occupations, 65+ points, Competent English and a matching skills assessment. The subclass still exists; the round does not.
NSW opened nomination for the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) for applicants on the regional occupation list who were living in a designated regional area. That round closed on 26 June 2020.
